Countdown to China
I thought the wait for Allie was hard (6 months from LID to referral, and 2 months from referral to travel, if you can believe it)... We were logged in for our second adoption in March 2007. And the wait was excruciating... until we switched to special needs in Oct. 2008. We found our son on the shared list at the end of October, submitted an LOI on Oct. 25, 2008, and an LSC on January 9, 2009. That part seemed to go so fast. Now that we're waiting for our TA, however, time has slowed to a snail's pace. (I know, time has been moving at a snail's pace for those of you who are waiting for a child who is non-special needs, and believe me, you have my sympathy, but it's different when it's YOUR child.) Our agency expects us to travel in March. I'm hoping for early March, but who knows how much CNY will affect things. I hope that it's early March so that my mother-in-law can still attend some SXSW events, so that Allie can stop wondering if it's ever going to happen, and so that John and I can finally hold him in our arms.
